Electrocutions can easily happen at construction sites in North Carolina if workers make contact with an overhead power line or an energized source, for example. Three men in a nearby state were recently injured at a construction site due to being electrocuted.

How the accident occurred

The recent electrocution took place at around 11 a.m. on a Monday. According to authorities, the three construction workers made contact with a high-voltage power line while at a construction site. They received electrical shocks as a result.

Officials said two of the workers suffered injuries considered to be life-threatening. Meanwhile, the third person suffered critical injuries not deemed a danger to his life. All three were transported to medical centers, where they were stabilized. A fourth worker received treatment at the accident scene before being released. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

Why hire a workers’ compensation attorney?

Being injured at work can take a mental, emotional, physical and financial toll on an individual. For this reason, a construction worker injured at work may want to consult a workers’ compensation attorney as soon as possible. An attorney in North Carolina can help the individual file a workers’ compensation claim for financial benefits to cover accident-related expenses such as medical bills, ongoing health care expenses and the loss of wages. The attorney will strive to ensure that his or her client receives the full amount of benefits to which he or she is entitled.
