Starting on September 1, 2021, the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission is requiring the submission of claims forms for work injuries and occupational diseases electronically. The Commission has also given formatting requirements for emails, forms, and supporting documents.

Right now, it is not clear if these new requirements are for represented parties, or if unrepresented workers and employers will have more leeway in complying with them. These are questions the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission will likely answer for us in the future.
